October 26th, 2007. comments are open Design Patterns

After reading this post by Chet Haase, I started to think about the quantity of the developers that don’t have a clue about design patterns. If they could imagine how empty their life is…

To learn more about Design Patterns, read the first and the best book “Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object-Oriented Software” (ISBN 0201633612) by the Gang-Of-Four. If you want an easy reading you may try the “Head First Design Patterns” (ISBN 0596007124).

If you enjoy doing Java Puzzlers instead of watching a movie with your favorite actress then you’re a geek.

Don’t know what I’m talking about?

Watch the last talk or read the sample chapter of the book “Java Puzzlers - Traps, Pitfalls, and Corner Cases” by Joshua Bloch and Neal Gafter.

October 12th, 2007. comments are open Would you drive a car controlled by Java code?

Believe it or not, this is the main purpose of the JSR298 Telematics API for Java ME specification. This API will be able to provide automotive telematics services on embedded devices that are using Java ME platform. It defines methods for controlling and obtaining diagnostic information and conditions on various components built in to the vehicle.

But don’t start to save money for your new car yet…

There are two issues in this specification. There are no car manufacturers or telematics creators in the expert group and this specification duplicates some work in OSGi.

You can find more information here.

October 11th, 2007After 10 years and 100 million blogs

What’s the reason to create another blog?

Well, easy answer! Everyone creates a blog because it has something to say to the world.

I’m creating this blog now because (I think) I only have something interesting to say to the world now.

In this blog I’ll write without any commitment thoughts about the areas where I develop my work (networks, java and security).

I’m not planning to write about myself or things directly related to me. If you want to know more about me, please check the appropriate section of this site or drop me an email.

I hope you enjoy reading this blog as much as I enjoy writing it.
